Participated in 1862 Shenandoah Valley campaign, Seven Days campaign, Sharpsburg, Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg (as commander of “Stonewall” Brigade), Virginia Overland campaign (WIA – “Mule Shoe”), Petersburg, Ft. Stedman and Appomattox.
